Rich As A Comic

Whether as an act, or as an MC, Rich has worked hard to develop into a comic who can engage and have fun with any room. With sharp, energetic material, and a talent for audience banter, he's building a reputation as a friendly, confident, and inventive MC, able to build a great atmosphere from even the most unpromising crowds. He's a versatile act, whose constant writing and re-writing of comic material has given him the confidence to take to any stage.

Throughout 2011 he started to receive regular paid work in clubs across the North West and beyond, and reached the final of the Beat The Frog World Series.

Starting Out

Rich Wall is a comedy obsessive, and has spent most of his life trying to make other people laugh (apart from the first couple of years, where he concentrated on gurgling incoherently and crying for food - something which he intends to return to eventually).

In late 2007 he stretched this obsession with comedy to the point where he received an ultimatum from his friends and family: to either start doing stand-up comedy, or to stop going on about it. As it happens, Rich turned out to be better than anyone expected, winning the semi-final of the Tickled Pig New Act Competition in only his second gig.

His friends and family now barely see him, as he travels round performing at venues all over the country.

Outside of the world of stand-up, Rich lives in his adopted home of Salford with his partner Michelle. A former teacher, he now balances stand-up comedy with his other career passion, supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to make a difference within their communities.
